Born in 1986, Alex Wade was born and raised in the quiet town of Maryville, TN. He started playing bass at the age of 14, and by 16 he had moved on to playing guitar. Playing with many local bands at a young age he got a taste for the thrill of live performance and began taking it more seriously. By the age of 20, he along with the other founding members created Whitechapel. His career as a touring musician began at the age of 21 and 5 years later, Whitechapel has become a successful national act with four full length albums (three of which have charted on the Billboard Top 200) and one EP under their belt.
Alex Wade began working with and endorsing ESP guitars in 2008. In the fall of 2011, he was approached to create a signature guitar for them, the ESP/LTD AW-7. It was nationally released at Winter NAMM 2012 with rave reviews, and has seen a steady increase of sales since it's launch. Find out more about his LTD signature 7 string guitar here.
"I love using FretWraps by Gruv Gear. While recording, I always used to tie a rag behind the nut on my guitar to dampen the harmonics that occur from the nut to the tuning posts. The FretWraps do this perfectly, except cleanly and fashionably. You will always find a FretWrap on my guitars when I am in the studio!"
